Home Sweet Home

There are teens that are kids, then there are other teens

He is 16, she is 17. Together they are reportedly a couple with a new baby, sadly not an unusual occurence.

On Thursday it is believed the couple hid in another family's home and remained hidden all night. It is believed that they intended to steal the family's car on Fri., then leave the state. But when the mother of that family drove that car to work the next day, things changed.

The family has an 18 year old daughter. She was home recovering from recent brain surgery. And according to reports, the teen couple allegedly took their revenge for losing out on the car on that daughter.

She was bound and gagged in the home for 6-8 hours. She was beaten with a baseball bat. Her head was shaved, According to the sheriff:

"It is a terrible, terrible crime. Remember, I told you that she was tied up, and was moved from room to room to room. She told them, 'Please don't hit me in the head! I have had brain surgery, please don't do that!,' and they struck her in the head more than one time. They had no remorse they didn't care,"

It is not clear if she was sexually assaulted.

The teens allegedly robbed and vandalized the home. When they were caught, they were caught carrying items from the home.

There are teens, and then there are teens. The sheriff wants these teens tried as adults.

Sweet, any update on the victim's condition? The brutality is what always gets me. WHO can think that way...with depraved indifference? I don't understand that thinking, and hope I never do. If you have any updates on the 18 year old's condition, please let us know.

It looks like she was released from the hospital on Sat. Teens have been charged with "aggravated robbery, assault and kidnapping"

They also forced her to stand outside dripping wet and without shoes, in the snow and the cold.

Two days before the attack on the teen girl, Children's Services recieved a call about the couple. They had abandoned their 2 month old baby with a 15 year old babysitter.

Along with the other things the teens did, they also destroyed the girl's prom dress that she had gotten for the upcoming prom. The community is coming together and donating new jewelry, a prom dress and other items that were destroyed.

Among the donations were T-Shirts inscribed with a something the girl had said to her father:

"I am strong. They can not break my spirit."

She is reported as being upbeat and strong of spirit. People can get a T for a $5 donation.
